Forcing the body to work with limited amounts of fluid is like trying to wash the dinner dishes in a cupful of water. When you don't drink enough water, the body must excrete wastes in a much more concentrated form, causing body odor, bad breath, and unpleasantsmelling urine.
Does It matter what beverages I drink? They all contain water, Don't they?
Our bodies are about 70 percent water and our kidneys process more than 47 gallons of it in a day. Without it we'd look more wrinkled than california raisins!
Water to the body is like oil to a car engine. it's the magic lubricant that makes everything else work. A drink of water is exactly what the body needs to carry out all its life processes.
Do the "no sugar" diet drinks solve these problem?
Diet beverages don't contain sugar, but they present other concerns. Nearly all beverages, sugared or not, contain chemicals that are added to color, flavor, preservation, and other reasons. Some of these may irritate elicate stomach linings, and some may also require the liver and kidneys to detoxify and dispose of them.
Drinking eliminates all of these problems. It has no extra calories to slow down digestion or to add unwanted fat. It has no irritants to stress the sensitive linings of the digestive tract, fewer chemicals to threaten dlicate body machinery, and no caffeine. It' readily available, and it's cheap!
How much water should I drink?
Drink enough to keep the urine pale. The body loses about 10 to 12 cups of water a day through the skin, lungs, urine, and feces. Food provides 2 to 4 cups of water, leaving us about 8 glasses of water to drink.
Get into the habit of drinking water liberally. Drink on arising, in mid morning, and midafternoon. A drink of water is like an internalshower.
Water is the perfect beverage, and one of life's greatest blessings.
